I myself just spend about 1.5 hrs in the local board shop trying on boots. Mainly Burton and Ride. I rode Burton Motos last year, which are a soft boot, but they were half off late in the season and I was rocking really old used GNU's. Anyways I tried on the Burton Ion's, Imperials, Ruler and Ambush. I also tried on the Ride RFL's, Triads, Hi-phys, and for me without a shadow of any doubt the RFL's were the boot for me. Going from a Moto to an RFL is going to be a huge change, but I am looking forward to it. In the end you really need to spend some time and try them on. And hopefully the store you pick has an awesome staff!
