I am using proper technique, just sucks I cant go 100% anymore. Looking for some suggestions on making it easier.
Was the injury recent? If you are keeping up on your conditioning and stretching, You should be 95% to where you were a year later, even if you had surgery.
Most of the stress on your knees in snowboarding comes from your speed and the associated acceleration changes that come with that speed (like stomping landings, catching your edge, carving hard), not the weight of your gear. What can't you do know that you could do before?
You might consider looking for a board with more dampening (instead of lighter weight) to soak up the jolts and vibrations shooting up your legs. Anyways good luck!
