Now, I know its only minor surface rust even so, I was wondering if anyone had any tricks to keep the edges from getting rusty on long road trips? or maybe I should just not worry about it and bring a file to tune the edges up and knock off the rust when I get to where I am going? Let me know what you guys think.
Take a chunk of wax and rub on the base/side edges like a crayon to coat them. The wax will rub off almost instantly when you start riding. Since you mentioned a file I assume you must have wax as well.
