No, I was 125 lbs when I learned to snowboard on a 152 cm board. This is me during my second season riding a Salomon 450 154 at 125-130 lbs.

Update: I did some research on you Emagen. While I own and love the Proto CT 154, I want to say that if you are starting out, it is not necessary to get the latest and greatest snowboard. At your current skill level, lessons and practice are going to help you out a a lot more than some fancy board. I do recommend owning your own snowboard gear though.
