Getting the right boot size / Choosing boots

for sure there is someone who cant always try boots before you order them, because of lack of stores near your hometown, or lack of size you need

thats exactly my problem, i made one thread before about buying few things, and i mentioned that problem there, but all the answers was same - must try them before buying, but well.. cant

so if you buy a boots, how you try to get the perfect fit? you measure your foot and then add like 0.5/1 cm and it makes size you need? or you get bit smaller or same as normal shoes you wear?

i know thats never sure thing, cause every boots are different, like i have 2 pairs of same size shoes, but one of them are just to small, but maybe you got some tips that could be usefull

i need like 13/14 size, store that i have in my city offers maximum 12 so i will go there tomorrow and check how much bigger than 12 i need

any tips? experience with ordering boots?
