I used all-seasons for years. Now I put snows on in the winter. All-seasons are better than just regular tires (I've gone that route too, when I was young and poor) but snows are better than all-seasons. Frankly, it's one thing if I'm just going to work, or going to pick the wife up or something, but if I'm heading to the mountain, I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO GET THERE!! NO compromises!!
