Of course dedicated winter tire would be best, but if we are being honest a lot of people can't afford a dedicated set of winter tires. All seasons aren't the best but they are also not too bad as well. I think you could get by with a good set of all seasons. Getting them siped would also help a good bit with traction. You could also just keep a cheap set of snow chains/cables in your car if it really gets bad. But with an awd subie i wouldn't be TOO worried.
