All mountain bindings?

Hi, I've just registered to pick your brains, as this seems a lot more active than the UK sites.

I'm after some new bindings to go on my new Flow Drifter board, I'm a beginner/intermediate, don't do any park riding and want a canted footbed.

Some bindings I've been looking at and things I've heard about them are:

Ride Capo, (toe straps seem to break down quite badly)
Burton Cartel, (don't like what I've been reading about the heel lift)
K2 formula/company, (straps don't look so high class as the other bindings)
Rome 390 Boss, (seem to have issues with paint chipping, ratchets sticking etc)

Does anyone have reviews of these, (I've done loads of research but wanted genuine first hand reviews from people who have used them).

Is there really a noticable difference between plastic/composite and alloy footbeds?
