Yeah, it's definitely worth doin' yourself. It takes me a little while, but that's more time with her, so it's worth it in the end.
It does cost a little bit to get the equipement (using an old clothes iron isn't recommended; from what I understand, the holes under the iron mess with the chemistry of heat and air, or something like that. A waxing iron is flat, and has no holes in its surface) but you can keep it under $75 probably- that's including the iron and various tools. Check out the threads about waxing and tuning-there's a ton of info around here. Also, teaching yourself how to wax and tune your board will help your lazy bastard situation.
