no, they don't. nothing like that. if you're worried about it take a piece of tin foil off of your hat and cover the bottom of the iron before you start but if you're just gonna use the iron for waxing there's really no reason to.
that said a waxing iron is better just cuz its less likely to burn the wax simply from being too hot. mom's iron can get too hot fo sho, but it's not the holes messing with the earth's polarity - or something like that.
