I was looking for the closest resemblance to snowboarding on street and ended up with a freebord. Must have a hill to ride and takes more effort then a long board. But i can turn, carve and stop like i can on my snowboard. Does take a little more effort to learn(just like snowboarding to skateboarding). My standard DC skate shoes fit great in the adjustable bindings. No real comfortable way to push on a freebord making them about impossible to ride on flat areas.
So if you live in flat areas or are trying to use this as a way to travel then a longboard is your best bet. But if the sliding effect is what your looking for, freebords are the way to go.
