Take your 13's & put the sole of your shoe against the bottom of your foot.

Well obviously I'm taken aback that I've been wearing the wrong sized shoes for the better part of a decade, but no, it didn't seem odd to me. I never measured my foot; I simply tried on shoes until I found one that fit comfortably. Without trying wide shoes, I evidently had to go up that many sizes for the correct width. When I walk, there is no forward-back shift, and the width is perfect.

I never had enough spare time to sit down and compare my foot to my shoe to analyze the differences
