If you haven't already, pick up and read Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain by Bruce Tremper. Great thing to have read before you take a Level I. Friends of Berthoud Pass also has several free Avalanche Awareness Classes scheduled around the Metro area. They are great intro's and primer's for those going to take a Level I. They are also great refreshers for us vets too. Especially after the Summer lay off.

The next two classes are December 11th at the Go Lite Store in Boulder and December 17th at the Oriental Theater in Denver. Classes run about two hours and cover the basics that a Level I will expand upon. Start time is 7pm.
