Salomon F2.0 sizing

I am probably going to buy a pair of Salomon F2.0 boots. Got a pair of Burton Restricted Rulers from before in US 9.5 and 42 2/3 in EU sizing which is what I wear in sneakers. According to Burton's size chart they are 27.5 Mondo. The boots are not extremely snug, but tight enough if crank down the laces. I could probably downsize half a size.

Then it starts getting confusing. On Salomon's size chart 42 2/3 EU is actually 9.0 and 27 Mondo. They list 9.5 US as 43 1/3 and 27.5 Mondo.

The question is if they pack out much or are they more or less true to size? I could probably downsize from 9 to 8.5 US on F2.0. This is 42 EU which is the smallest I could go in regular sneakers.

Wish I could try the boots in a store, but this is unfortunately not an option since nobody carries them.
