Highly recommended that you try on any and all boots to find the ones that fit your feet best. Nice and snug all around your foot(no space in front of your toes), no heel lift, and no painful pressure anywhere(the slightest pain will be multiplied over the course of a day of riding).
From there, pick the ones you like best as far as stiffness and lacing options.
For basic, all-round bindings I would recommend Rome 390's, Burton Missions, or K2 Formulas. All of which you might be able to find in last year's model for money savings.
