Not semi automatic would be automatic? And also if it is ok to own firearms to hunt, but nothing larger than a .223 you wouldn't kill anything above fox unless you were sniper trained. An AR, which is what he used, is not easily concealable. Long barrel is also more dangerous in close quarters.
I do agree somewhat on the ammo restrictions though. Nothing absurd though. Here it is only five rounds which is ridiculous. I'm not sure of the answer, but at least a twenty round clip is acceptable.
