I know enough US history to know that I don't need to know more US history. You're living in the past. I wouldn't disregard your opinion on a UK issue because you don't know what happened at the Battle of Graveney Marsh in 1940. Do you understand the anecdote? (Not trying to be patronising, just trying to explain my POV)
Perhaps if the US education system focused more on the rest of the world, science and actual academic subjects, I wouldn't have to spend my Wednesday night live stream facepalming at Americans trying to convince me that a triangle has four sides. But, that's a different discussion (;
