I just rotated high backs on a pr
of new custom ESTs last week & had no issues. Possibly the high back is twisted or tweaked slightly and hangs up instead of pushing back into the fully open position. if this is the case, the 2 surfaces will smooth out & this issue will clear up quickly w a half day riding
Seems like it. Of course, when mounting my boot the issue is gone as the boot presses the highback all the way back. It's only popping up about 2mm instead of sitting in the "lock".
When they're loose, pull the highback all the way back into the heelcup and hold it tight with your non-screwdriver hand. Then screw the screws in tight while stll clamping the base of the highback to the heel up with your hand
That is what I did, carefully following YouTube videos. I will give it another shot tonight or else I'll just try it this way and see what it does after a few runs.
Damn, I'm anxious to finally hit the snow again. Friday I'm off, 1040km drive and then snow time.
