I loved US and was mesmerized by it the first 2-3 years. Huge crisis during 911. Confusion until 03. Learned a lot since then. Lost contact with a lot of people that don't like where I live. But I love it here ( Bay area ) snow, rock and waves all within driving distance... not to mention some excellent local produce
...and wine / beer.
I do miss the food from Italy...but I can cook.
