If I don't have my binding angles right it will make my ankle hurt bad. A few years ago I spent all day messing with my angles until I found a spot where it does not hurt. You could try messing with them some day and see if it helps. Take a screw driver and adjust every few runs. You may just have a weak knee from playing other sports and age tho.
