Anyone ever broken some bones?

Fourth run of the season on my new complete setup and i took a spill and ended up breaking my left humerus (bicep bone) of my arm just after picking up a season full time pass...yeah you could call me lucky And now im stuck debating whether or not i should return it, but im leaning towards holding onto it.

So it broke the night of Dec 22nd on the last run of the day, and got surgery on christmas eve, pins weren't enough so three screws were needed. Doc says 6-8 weeks to have the bone healed, but that means im gonna be missing muscle mass, would you think it's safe to start riding a week or two after the doc says the bone is healed,(not medical advice, just a second opinion) with the absence of muscle? My hockey season is finished which really sucks, but shit happens.

Any of you guys had experience with a broken humerus? How long did it take?

The next day before surgery (bone shifted):

During surgery, pretty much what it looked like after:
