Gloppy? If you know how to wax you don't have alot of excess to start with, and you don't drip any wax on the tips. Wax ends up on the tips just from the excess that gets spread around near the ends, and I just scrape a bit past the contact points, its not like i'm deliberately coating the tips excessively
