Picked up this Black and Decker $12 iron at Target the other day. (Buy the Black and Decker Steam Iron | F210)

Will this thing be OK to use to wax my board? Should I cover it with tin foil or something similar or just use it as-is?

I've always used a snowboard-specific waxing iron but the one I've always had got lost somewhere between last winter and now...
