Since the.extremities are the farthest away from your heart, naturally, they will be the coldest part of your body upon exposure. Therefore rocking gloves isn't really a practical strategy in my opinion when in an environment below freezing temperatures. Gloves separate the extremities and have increased surface area. Which effectively means more contact with the cold. Mitts alleviate this problem by clumping the extremities together. This shares the heat and decreases contact with the cold. I used to rock gloves.
