I have a 2013 rc 162w. I wear a size 12 Nike vapen boot. I also have a 2010 rc 158w. With the older board I had a little bit of toe / heal drag. That is why I went up I size on this board. I am not sure about trying to do a set back stance on this board as it is a twin. It is mostly designed for u to be centered on the board. The one thing I noticed is that my boots have a pretty large footprint so on the smaller board if I was traversing steep terrain, my overhang would cause me to dig In to the snow and stop me. With the 162w I don't have that problem.

Might try to look for a super low profile boot in your situation.
