Don't strip the old wax out of your base. Just keep layering wax on top for whatever conditions you are riding next. The only reason to ever strip the wax out of your base is to get dirt and other contaminents out. Don't use a base cleaner then either, just give your base a few hot scrapes (scrape the wax when it is still warm.)
