I hot waxed my board last weekend with the Lib Tech All Temp Banana Wax (came with the tuning kit I got on sale) and tried it out yesterday. Wasn't expecting much from it so I wasn't too disappointed but I was going really slow. I'm pretty sure it wasn't my wax job since the base was very smooth with no "sticky" clumps of wax and I buffed the wax out with a scotch pad until my arms fell off. But back to my question, I wanted to change wax to OneballJay's Cool temp four wheel drive wax. I figured I need to clean the base before changing from all temp to temp specific wax so will rubbing alcohol work as a base cleaner? The board tech at my local shop said it'd be fine for a temporary base cleaner replacement.
