I'm pretty sure it wasn't my wax job since the base was very smooth with no "sticky" clumps of wax and I buffed the wax out with a scotch pad until my arms fell off. But back to my question, I wanted to change wax to OneballJay's Cool temp four wheel drive wax. I figured I need to clean the base before changing from all temp to temp specific wax so will rubbing alcohol work as a base cleaner? The board tech at my local shop said it'd be fine for a temporary base cleaner replacement.
You're not scraping enough if you're doing that much buffing. You can also use a drill to buff.
