Hasn't something like this already been invented? Where I ride 1st timer snowboarders, when renting, are given a snowboard that has 'upwards' concavity along the edges, so as it is almost impossible to catch an edge.

What else can be done to a board to make it more "beginner" ?

Regardless, I think these concaved beginner boards are still useless as it teaches the new rider to rely on boards that are not designed like the rest of the non-beginner snowboards, forcing them to re-adapt their riding once they do make the jump to a "normal" board.

Rambing, rambling...thread got me thinking...
