This was most likely done for the Vans High Standard event this Sat. Last year it was held in Northlands but with the new lift tower in place I don't see how they could accommodate in the same fasion as last year. Other than that there seems to be something for every level in the terrain parks; three ride on features in lower mushroom, some medium sides ons in Young Guns and of course many features in the Pit.
After being in the beginner terrain park on Cypress on Wednesday, I'm even less happy with the beginner coverage on Seymour now. At minimum
Seymour needs to add:
- A ride-on rail that is less than a foot off the snow
- A less than 20 foot jump
- Very low street-style rail and box
There's some other stuff Cypress had that I really liked, but those weren't items that I would consider essential to easy progression. The items that I've listed would specifically
help me get past beginner nervousness. Considering how little the rail on Lodge is getting used, I think I'm probably not alone.
