I did a 3-day fast as an experiment once. On the 3rd day in the evening, we were going to have a nice dinner. Now, I biked all over town on that 3rd day and I was feeling like utter crap/collapsing afterward. I also slept a lot during these 3 days.
My theory is that I needed energy and with nothing but water intake, where was I going to get that energy from?
I have no idea how this guy is doing it, I'm hoping science can shed some light on this matter. Should make for an interesting paper!
Anyway, I had my dinner that night with no repercussions, I started feeling a lot better very soon thereafter.
Do we eat ourselves sick, or is it just those who eat too much?
