Thankfully I never went through the sore butt phase - there was so much fresh snow my first day that it was like falling into clouds.
One ache that did surprise me was in one side of my neck. I couldn't turn my head for 2-3 days because my neck wasn't used to facing in one direction for that long. Something to look forward to when I start trying switch.
