I used to ride, when I lived in Texas and Florida. Cross country stuff, not super technical gnarly craziness. Really love tight twisties through the trees, and rolling swoopy trails that make you feel like you're flying.
Not much of that here, though. There's a small group starting up in town wanting to build some trails now, which I'm excited about. If we can defeat the alders and not get devoured by bears, we could have some fun. I don't have anything fancy, just a Raleigh M800 and a GT Pantera, both over 10 years old. Might be nice to get something newer and lighter, but they're both perfectly serviceable. Lately I've been riding the Raleigh around town on the ice and snow, studless. It's actually a lot of fun.
I don't think even a fat bike would work on the trails around here in the winter. Just too much snow.
