Apparently he tried to throw a snowball at his friends on the chair in front of him and slipped. He held on for a good 6 minutes then he fell. this happened at a ski resort in santa fe, nm.
But he doesn't seem to be strapped in. Did he remove his ski/board? This incident had some play on tv stations in TX. Wonder if the kid is from TX? Glad he's going to make a complete recovery. Guess there's no telling... :icon_scratch:
So, am I missing something here? This guy goes on and on and on preaching about wearing a helmet; Yeah he mentions "horsing around" but that is like an afterthought. Okay, yeah, wearing a helmet is not a bad thing and I am now pretty much wearing one a lot more than I used to, but maybe not acting like an idiot on the chairlift might do more to prevent this???.....just saying....:dunno:

Oh gods I hope you didn't just start another helmet war
I think not acting like an idiot in general is a good idea. But I am actually wondering now... I think I see safety bars on those lift chairs, but I'm not sure. Did it have a safety bar and they didn't even bother to put it down? :dizzy:
For such a stupid little thing, he got massively damaged, I'm glad he'll recover and will have probably learned something from the ordeal. But boy, what a bad way to learn a lesson!
Not many people use the safety bar, mainly because sitting down is not rocket science. Its the exact same thing as a couch. Kid learned the hard way - dont goof around on lifts, it hurts! Sadly a large portion of our society has to learn this way, we're getting dumber as time marches on.
It would seem that helmets do nothing to improve your critical thinking skills.
Who knew.
