Iron for Waxing...

So I was looking around my house for a spare iron and I managed to find a perfect iron for the job. However I'm worried it may be too hot, the info on it says: 120V~ 50/60 Hz., 120W if anyone knows what that means. Is the temperature fine for waxing or will the wax smoke?
