Not having a wrap around edge is good, You would be paying more to fix it if you bent the edge when you hit that skier. That gash is easy and cheap to fix, if you hit hard enough to make a big gash you probably would have caved in the edge. Again a pic would help tons.
And you have a knife at home do you not?
I have honestly have not really heard anything good or bad about the bio beans topsheet. But I trust Mervin knows what they are doing with their technology.
Skier slid into my nose waiting on the lift. Yes I could cut the burs out but it'll leave it looking like crap. My comparison is that I didn't have this experience with the top sheet on my last board, or from any of my friends boards during the holiday. As we all had to put up with bashing boards against pushy French skiers but my board comes out looking like its been in a fight with Freddie Kruger.

I've emailed lib tech. Told them about my experience. That've taken it to my local store where I bought it (who are returning it to LT for me).

Of the two bad things, I'd like to split them up and view them like this.
  • The 'snap'/crease or whatever happened to the nose is just a defect and not a fair representation of their builds.
  • the softness / burrs in the bio beans top sheet is because they aren't as tough as a typical board and I should look at a LT board with a standard finish (e.g. The normal skunk ape)

More than happy to try another one of their boards as they ride great.
