The Proto and the SL cater to basically the same type of rider... you just get more features and tech in the Proto. If I were you I would opt for a Raptor for a board at the other end of the spectrum of the Proto to give you some more diversity. If you still aren't sure you want to go all the over to the Raptor, I would get a Cobra.
