Default Sole cushioning in boots.

Hi,

So I finally got my New pair of sb bots in the mail and have had a chance to pull out my custom footbeds and put them in the new ones.
Something I noticed is that the footbeds are pretty hard in the arch and heel (ok) but between the ball of the footbed, the sole of the liner and then the boot, its no wonder I can feel the ground! I do not have any cushioning!
The stock Nike footbeds do have some foam cushioning but it is thin and squishy and would wear down quickly with the weight and movement of a rider.

Has anyone made any alterations to perhaps the space between the boot and the liner (sheets of plain foam cut to size?)
Suggestions??
