OMG! That's awsome. Love to hear that they flew him off! We got bears and wolves occasionally crossing borders from Italy. But as soon as they get too close to towns, they'll be shot. Big debates, if we're ready for the big predators here. On one side people are very afraid, on the other side some are stupid enough to approach those bears to get nice close up pics without any knowledge. We're not yet used to big wildlife... If I hear from friends in Vancouver, how relaxed they live with bears surrounding them, I don't think this will ever be possible here. There's a big hunter/alpine farmer lobby that don't want them here
its easier to shoot wolves/bears than to adapt to their existence (e.g. apline sheep herds would need to be supervised/protected by dogs instead of just let them run freely all summer long). Narrow valleys, narrow minds... but this might as well be ignorant from me. I don't live close to affected towns
live at the countryside 15min away from the capital. See deer, fox, hare, honey badger every evening. No big wildlife
