Just wondering if someone can offer advice on some bindings. I'm looking at getting my first setup. I've been looking at 2 bindings in particular the Rome 390's and the Flow NX2-SE. I was leaning towards the flows but people have been advising me that they are not the best for beginners.
I've read lots of positives about the Rome 390's so now I'm considering them.
You will get tons of different answers because it's about preference. This is my 2nd season so I'm still a beginner but I've tried 3 different bindings already.
My personal preference is Burton cartel or Union contacts. I learned how to link turns on the contacts as it was a bit softer. I progressed a little more with the cartels becuase they were just a bit stiffer. Both really great for my needs in my opinion.
It is the most complicated binding I've ever tried to set up. Setting up took literally 2 hours. And then getting into that sweet spot when riding it takes additional unproportional effort. It is a very well made binding from a great company, but wasn't for me.
I'd second the Cartel recommendation. Very good all-around binding.
Personally I'm not wild about Flow bindings (admittedly that is just preference) and I've also heard the Rome 390's can be pretty time-consuming to set up and adjust.
i've tried a few, and so far i like the union force bindings the best. they are easy to set up, and on my boot (US 10), the M/L size needed no adjustment at all from the factory. just put that shit on and ride. it was awesome
