Horseriding over 25y, showjumping 10y, xc 5y and still a beginner . Had my first eventing on a higher level just today. Almost shit my pants when walking the course and inspecing the obstacles and that still wasn't anywhere close to high I really look up to the folks doing the high level xc! To get an axious by nature animal to the point it trusts you enough to jump over solid fences it isn't able to see the landing is part of the magic of this sport.
But the level I'm doing is nothing special. Many many girls riding xc at this level.

I really thought quicksand was going to be a much bigger issue in my life when I was little
