Billabong is proud to announce the signing of Canadian Jody Wachniak to it’s North American pro team. Wachniak, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba is growing into one of the most talented snowboarders to come out of Canada.
As a true double threat, Wachniak balances urban skills with backcountry firepower. Known by his friends for his laidback attitude and down to earth personality, Wachniak has been turning heads throughout the snowboard community as of late, including a 10 page interview in the most recent issue of King Snow Magazine.
One of the founding members of the ‘Man Boys’, Wachniak’s career continues to climb on the same path as the Man Boys videos as they go viral. With a successful season of online edits, the Man Boys go into the 15/16 Winter with a full year video project, powered by Transworld Snowboarding in their sightlines, with Wachniak playing an integral part.
“Jody has established himself as one of the most well rounded Canadian snowboarders the past few years. Whether it’s riding the Whistler backcountry or filming for his next movie part in the streets of Utah, Jody’s not afraid to bring it” said Risto Scott, Billabong’s North American Snow Manager. “I’m stoked to have Jody representing the brand, and look forward to him being a strong part in taking our snow program to the next level as we refocus our efforts in snow for the Billabong brand.”
