Buy a board in Niseko? or...

Planning a solo trip to Japan in mid February. Going to travel to Niseko first and then Hakuba.

Im travelling from Canada and would like to not bring a board with me on the trip there, I'm in need of a new board anyways and was hoping to get a board in Niseko.

My question is , is this a good/bad idea?
is it difficult to find a good board in Niseko? Any places recommended? Also do they also not take credit cards?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Indeed, WAY more expensive. Renting is also not cheap - except for the Gentem boards which are a bargain (at least relative to the price of buying one).

oksyinc: What kind of board are you looking for and when will you be there? I might be able to hook you up.

Not sure as of yet, i can easily get one here in Toronto, but its going to cost at least $100 if not more in baggage fees to get there.

I was wondering if there were boards available in Japan that I can't particularly get here , I don't have a powder board yet and was hoping to maybe catch a good one or even a used one there or in Sapporo.

I've lived in Japan for the last 5 years, and I would say that purchasing anything "new" in Japan is downright crazy. I order all my stuff from online sites in the U.S. and have it shipped to me, its cheaper than buying it here.

In that case, as previously mentioned, you should check out the Gentem boards.
