Yeah, true, it can be done on a budget, but I'm too old and crotchety these days. The main things that surprised me were accommodation and lift tickets. Accommodation were more than twice the cost of somewhere like Queenstown, and lift tickets were close by the time you take into account the exchange rate. A season pass would have been the go, but it's too late to pick up the early bird discount now.

BTW, love the picks ETM. I hope to see more of that between now and mid August.

I think all bar three of the lifts are running now. Forecasts are predicting more, smaller dumps of 10cm or so, but low temperatures. That should be good for the base at least.

what's a good place for park & pipes around this part of the hemisphere?

I've been to snow park NZ, that was cool but most of the stuff was way too advanced for me, some of the jumps were ridiculously large but it was totally cool. Last time I was in NZ I think the only other place was remarkables which had like a tiny tiny run with about 2 jumps and 3 rails on it. I think one other place had a melted down pipe and that was about it.

There's the park & pipe at the bottom of Perisher here, the pipe is ok, the park was ok too but it was either beginner or advanced with nothing in between... and I think there's a mini-3-jump thing up top too or something like that.

Never been to the ones in Vic, not sure if what they're like over there, but I've been told there's places over there.

They usually have 3 different parks setup around perisher with decent variety.

Im always out there ;-) I bloody walked there from guthega last saturday cause they had the lifts on wind hold. That was a good warm up I tell you.

This is from the top of mt blue cow, I hiked it twice on monday and put 2 nice tracks down the NE face, you can see blue cow station in the distance

Any of your boards been made yet?

Seems like they are all overkill for the pow you have there which looks pretty decent but not very deep.

Keep the photos coming I've still got 6 months before I see any snow.

Yeah I ride the supermodel most days. People over here blow out at my swallowtail, most have no idea what it is. I tell them its from all the skiers banging into my board in the lift lines ;-)

Havent got any boards made yet, been too busy with other projects but I have to pull my finger out soon and get onto them. The boards I am building have no place in Australia really, they are designed for japan type powder.
I will keep the pics coming in as long as we have conditions worthy of being shown.

What's with all the people at Front Valley? The rest of the runs seem almost deserted, at least that's how it looks from the web cams.
