Gutted, I fractured my kneecap playing hockey last Saturday and needed surgery to put it back together. No riding for me this season.

Of course this happens during the best start to the season in recent memory!

How was the first weekend up Ruapehu? Snow getting icy already? Would have tried to get up on Sunday but was hungover from Mardi Gras. Which was pretty awesome to be fair

That sucks dude. how long till it's likely to be right? Save all they money you'd spend from boarding this season and put it towards a trip to Canada at the end of the year?

Thanks man, yeah I've got it in a splint for another 5 weeks or so, then a whole shitload of rehab to do. Surgeon reckoned it'd be basically normal again in 6 months, so maybe just in time for a Jan/Feb trip to Canada. I'm pretty fit and healthy so hoping that'll speed it up too.

Would love to do another Canada trip next year if I could afford it. Just thinking my mortgage might have killed my chance to travel overseas as much now as I'd like though :/ Still if I end up going I'll try and remember to hit you up, might see you over there or something if I can pull it off.

Thought that would have been the case, makes me glad I never got up on Saturday. Was looking at coming up this weekend, but metservice is already looking like rain. Still, might just come upto Kune to get away from Welly for a bit.
Your friend break it on ice? or hitting some jumps/drops or the like? Or just bad luck?
