It's dumping down in the lakes district at the moment! Looks like most of the resorts down that way are going to have a phenomenal opening day. Seeeeeeeriously tempted to fly down.

80cm on Hutt yesterday, predicting same again today, love a good snow storm, just wish it would come down to seas level and get me a day off work

I've been looking at the time-lapse webcam at Cardrona... it's just piling up. Sadly no danger of us getting a day off here in Auckland...

Cant believe how much snow is dumping there right now. I know its not a mountain for boarding but Hamner Springs is forecast to get 205cm in the next 2 days.

It's supposedly going to be the biggest snowstorm in 20 years here in NZ.

Turoa just went from 20cm to 71cm base!

I was in QT 2 years ago and don't remember that, I remember some good dumps but nothing like 2m in 2 days. Mt Hutt is reporting that their timing hut at top of the mountain has been swept down from an avalanche.

Cardrona posted on their Facebook that they will be postponing opening day by a day because there was so much snow fall they won't be ready in time! Perisher and Thredbo here in Australia only have 2 or 3 runs open each because there is so little snow...

Although I do vaguely remember a big storm in August, is that the one you mean?
