October rain crust is still there, though we didn't dig any pits to check out the layer. There was an avalanche warning until 1pm that day. I had already ruled out any alpine turns. We basically stuck to old Berthoud ski area runs that see a ton of skier traffic. Before this storm most of the runs we did had been well packed down by riders. The storm dropped about 8-10" of super low water content snow. Which was well below the 18"-24" CAIC was saying could fall in the zone. Winds did transport a lot of snow though and it was easily two feet deep in the spots we hit. It was a blower day for sure.
