July Chutes

I finally was able to hit a chute that I have looked at since I moved out here. From the view of my office window the Twin Couloirs on Deseret Peak glare at me every day. I have wanted to hit them and was able to get the chance on Saturday.

Headed up to the chutes.

Finally they are visible

Starting the boot pack up

Headed down

Hit the chute on the left.

Next weeks adventure? Most likely.

Dumb rattlesnake I almost stepped on hiking back.

Overall, the day was incredible for July 2. Hopefully this weekend it is just as good.

Damn, that looks like fun. What was the snow like? Looks kinda corny in the boot pack pic (still better than our mid winter snow though haha).

fattrav: It was perfect corn all in the chute. Once you dropped out of the chute more into the apron it was suncupped towards the bottom. The split didn't like suncupped snow though.

You guys will have powder days soon enough.

Nice work! Damn rattlers can be such a pita. Fortunately they don't really exist where you get turns around here. Plenty of them around the crags and Front Range hiking areas though.

so awesome to be able to ride 10 months a year with no travel required. Definitely jealous.
