T.rice 164.5 binding setup help

Here it goes... I scored a brand new 2014 t.rice HP in a 164.5 for free by winning a bet a couple of months ago =) yeah I know

But Im concerned that it is to big in width...I know this board is rated at a med/wide... and by the charts I see around for this board, I'm right at the beginning borderline for this 164.4 size, I'm sure a 161 would have been better but that was not the terms of the bet...
I am 5'11-6' in height and weigh in at 165, with a size 10 footprint in a VANS matlock... Basically it does feel huge when I strap in, but when I view my boots strapped in from the front the overhang on the toes and heels look alright my stance is set at -9 on the clutch & +19 on the gas, goofy.
I normally use a size MED. binding and max it out, instead of a LARGE for a smaller footprint, but I mounted LARGE bindings on this board because I thought it would go with the width of the board better.

Im curious as to what everyone thinks on the sizing and if it looks alright... Is it just to big for me? Should I just status the board as a wall art? If worse comes to worse I am assuming that I could almost use this as a powder board cause of the size. My other board I normally ride is a 2013 ARBOR 157 element, so this board is a huge step up i think... Please, any thoughts are appreciated... Mahaloz and Alohaz for your time...

It doesn't matter what it looks like. What matters is if you like riding a board that wide. I don't and Im a size 10. I've owned the Trice 157 and it is a board where the midwide waist isn't as much of a problem compared to conventional boards but you have a pretty wide one on your hands. You're going from 25.2 to 26.2 that's gonna feel like riding a door, not to mention how long it is. The board is oversized for you. Just sell it and get the 157.

I just picked up a T Rice 161.5 which is supposed to be too big for my 8.5 boot. If I'll post up what I think the first time I try it out. I have size S/M Rome bindings maxed to fit and it looks similar to your pictures. I do plan to take this out mostly on powder days and am keeping my old 155 to use depending on the people I'm riding with.

I'm gonna have to agree that it's too big for you dude. Unless you're going to ride it almost exclusively in deep powder in which case there are certainly better options out there.

It'd be stable as hell and lightning fast but I can't imagine it'd be a lot of fun.

Dam... that kinda sucks. Its hard to believe that a few centimeters makes that much of a difference... Well thank you all for give me a little input...I stared and thought about it for hours trying to convince myself that it would be alright.
So basically its the width that is killing it for me right? If I got another board in a 164 or 165 but with a more normal width it would be fine?
Im also wondering what the downside to this board would be because of the width? Is it just the issue of transferring from edge to edge? I mean let say it takes you 1.25 seconds go from heel to toe on a 25.2, does that mean it would take you like 2.00 seconds to go from heel to toe on a 26.2?

My apologies in advance if I am asking some common knowledge questions. I have just recently been introduced to this beloved sport called snowboarding and am trying to learn as much as possible. The only thing I hate about being born and raised in Maui, HI is the fact that there was no snowboarding

I see… but you a lllllll the way in WY correct? I would totally be down to swap but the idea of mailing a board scares me... Beside I would like both of us to see the board in person and decide. Im not trying to say your not a stand up guy or that I am not trustworthy, but for peace of mind for both of us you know. But you do got me thinking really hard about it... Any chance you plan on riding Mammoth Mountain this season? If you were I would definitely meet you out there... I tried getting a crew together to go to WY but no one was down (yeah they suck)
