Default Cartels or Chargers on Jones Flagship?

Whats a better match for the Jones Flagship, Burton Cartels (2013) or Union Chargers (2013)? On paper the Chargers look like a better match (stiffness and responsiveness) but how will Cartels match up.

You can't go wrong either way. Of course, I'm gonna say "get the Charger bro", but they are both amazing bindings.

If you want to compare apples to apples, compare the Cartel with one of our plastic Highback bindings. I'd suggest the Force.

Never tried Union but looks like a cool binding. Have tried and own Burton. Can't go wrong with them. Cartel a little softer but still responsive enough. What boots do you wear? Boot to binding fit is something to consider.

Cartel. Solid carbon highbacks a re brittle. I have seen many crack from minor impacts. From Union you eant the Force or Factory. The Factory ha a fair amount of stock forward lean. Think Burton from 5 years ago.

Appreciate the responses. My main setup is an early 2000s Forum Devun Walsh with Drake Podiums which Ive been rocking for over a decade, amazing combo which still rides like a dream. Huge fan of traditional camber board after a short stint riding rocker and now on to the hybrid camber boards.

Recently picked up a Flagship for more float in the deep stuff but I can still charge the groomers. Also grabbed both the Cartels and Chargers, so I might just have to keep them both and decide first-hand which ones feel better for my riding. Sounds like either will do fine on this board. As for the carbon highbacks Im confident Union will stand by their product if something goes wrong

scotty, Im still rocking a pair of 10 year old DCs (back when the build quality was way better). Don't remember the model but they're quite stiff and fit the Cartels and Chargers equally well.

First time out on Flagship with Chargers, as described on paper this setup very responsive.

Setup: Jones Flagship board, Union Charger bindings and DC boots
Conditions: Hardpacked machine groomed (small pockets of pow and ice patches)
Overall impression: Ultra stiff and responsive. Hard charging (fast) on groomers due to overall stiffness and camrock profile. Floats well in powder (limited) with long rockered nose. Holds on ice well with mellow magnetraction. The direct energy transfer from the stiffness goes both ways (not damp at all; harsh riding tracked out groomers and landing jumps). Not suitable for riders lacking confidence (at any level).

Next ride with Cartels.
