What are people's opinions on Forum's hinge plates? Do they make a noticeable difference?

the brand's dead but the binding are still available and there like $100 off and i need new bindings.

does the hinge plate make things more smooth or something?

ok i just read a bit on the reflex and i want a flexy or hinge plate now but i can't decide if it's worth getting a new pair of 2013 forum shakas for $120 and having no warranty or just save my money for something else
